Curious about historical swordsmanship but not ready to commit to a full course?
The Palm Beach Sword School Free Intro Class gives prospective students an opportunity to try Scottish Broadsword, meet instructors and current students, and learn how training at the school works.
No previous martial arts, fencing or sporting experience is required. Training equipment will be provided for the session.
Learn a basic guard, movement and controlled sword action under the supervision of a Palm Beach Sword School instructor.
Meet members of the instructor corps and learn about the school’s safety procedures, culture and class structure.
See some of the medieval, Renaissance and early modern weapons taught through regular classes and seminars.
Find out what happens during the four-hour Beginner Onboarding and the four weeks of regular training that follow it.
Wear comfortable clothing suitable for movement and flat, closed-toe athletic shoes. Bring water. All required introductory training equipment will be provided.
Please arrive approximately 15 minutes before the class begins so registration can be checked before training starts.
